Just completed your Bachelors/Masters? Wondering about how to apply for a Post Study Work Visa? Here we have listed you some important tips to apply PSW visa on your own where you can do everything yourself and save some money. But if you are a bit worried. You can consult with an agent and get it done easily.

Documents you need to apply for a PSW visa,

  • ImmiOnline Account
  • Valid Passport
  • Photograph (Digital copy)
  • Australian Federal Police Clearance certificate (Name check only) https://afpnationalpolicechecks.converga.com.au/ 
  • Health Insurance
  • Birth Certificate
  • Academic Transcripts
  • Completion letter from your college/University
  • Medical (can be done after you apply for visa)
  • IELTS/TOEFL/PTE Score report/results

 Document Checklist from Immigration

Visa Application fee as of date: AUD 1470 (** may change from time to time - keep an eye on!)

 

First of all you need to create and Immigration Online Account from the link above. After you account is created dont apply right away.

Apply for an Australia Federal Police Clearance certificate from the link above. Name check only is okay. You need to pay AUD 42 (May change from time to time). After you apply for the certificate keep the Reference Number as you need it to apply the visa. You will get the certificate in your post within 4-6 days delivered thru AustraliaPost.

Apply for Health Insurance. You can use any Insurer but Bupa is good and it has branches everywhere so it is preferred. http://www.bupa.com.au. The cheap package for 485 Visa will cost you around AUD 105 per month. Apply for one and get the Referal letter from them indicating your membership details.

If you have not yet translated your Birth Certificate from Nepal, you need to get a translated copy of it. You can also get a birth certification letter from VDC, Metropolitan Office or any Government wing near your location in Nepal.

You need to apply for Academic Transcripts and a completion letter from your college/Uni.

Get your IELTS/PTE/TOEFL or any other valid English proficiency document results and scan it.

After everything is done you can apply for the visa from your Online Immigration Account. Search for subclass 485 Temporary Graduate -> Post Study Work

Fill in the details in your form. Review it twice. If you dont have time to complete it all at once, you can save it and complete/submit it later. Review twice thrice as once it is submitted there is no way you can change the details.
After completion please submit and pay the Visa fee online. (You can use any of your major cards / BPAY)

AS SOON AS YOU SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION YOU WILL RECIEVE YOUR BRIDGING VISA (Class B) but that bridging will be in effect after your current visa expiry date.

After the application is submitted, upload all of your documents you have/listed above.

And lastly, you need to get your eMedical HAP ID for your medical. You can click on the eMedical Online link and generate a HAP ID. After getting your HAP ID you have to book an appointment with Bupa Visa Medical Services. You can do it online by going to http://www.bupavms.com.au and make an appointment. You need to pay AUD 300 (May change from time to time.). After all your medical test, they will send the medical reports directly to the Immigration Department, so you do not need to worry about uploading the medical results.
