POLICE divers have retrieved the body of a man, believed to be missing Nepalese national Sudeep Uprety, from under rocks near an ocean pool in Sydney’s south this afternoon.
The 26-year-old went missing on Monday night after heading to Maroubra Beach with Shristi Bhandari, 23.
A jogger found Ms Bhandari’s fully clothed body washed up on the beach on Tuesday morning and a search for Mr Uprety began.
After scouring the coastline for the last three days, lifeguards located a man’s body wedged by a rock underwater near Mahon Pool.

“Sadly this is the 10th body found along the coastline of Randwick City since November,” a council spokeswoman said.
It is believed the pair were swimming at night before being washed out to sea.
A woman who was at the beach when Ms Bhandari’s body was discovered said: “She seemed young. A guy going for a run started screaming for help so I grabbed mobile and a few of us bolted down.
“There was nothing we could do though, she was gone ... I feel so sad for her and her family. She was clothed so most probably wasn’t swimming especially as the beach was closed yesterday,” the woman said.

Ms Bhandari’s cousin Pratistha Kc has set up a GoFundMe page to pay for the repatriation of her body.
“She was a kind-hearted and radiant person and we are all so shocked and saddened by her untimely demise,” says the page, which had raised more than $6200 by Thursday morning.
Eastern Beaches police confirmed a police operation was underway at the beach, but would not comment on who or what the extraction team was for.
