One dead, another injured in Gwarko bike accident

KATHMANDU: A person died and another sustained injuries after the motorcycle they were riding on met with an accident in Gwarko of Lalitpur district on Sunday night, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Ganesh Tiwari (29) of Setang in Bhojpur district, currently residing in Satdobato and injured as Prem Bahadur Karki (33) of Singhdevi of Okhaldhunga district.
Tiwari was pillion riding on the motorcycle (Ba 29 Pa 3995) when it fell on the road after the motorcyclist Karki lost control at 10:45 pm yesterday, injuring both, informed the Satdobato-based Metropolitan Police Circle.
Critically injured Tiwari breathed his last the same night during the course of treatment in the Gwarko-based BNB Hospital, while Karki is undergoing treatment there.
Police after the preliminary investigation found that Karki was driving under the influence of alcohol.
Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
