Former Prime Minister and CPN Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s son Prakash Dahal has passed away in Kathmandu on Sunday morning, according to hospital sources. He was 36.

Prakash Dahal — private secretary to his father CPN MC chair Dahal and also central member of MC — was rushed to the Thapathali-based Norvic International Hospital at 5:50 am this morning, where he was pronounced dead upon reaching the hospital.

The cause behind his death has yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile, Pushpa Kamal Dahal has left for Kathmandu from Jhapa, via Nepal Army’s helicopter, where he was attending election campaign for the upcoming elections.

“Other details will be provided by organising a press conference after the Dahal family arrives” said the hospital.
