FCAN Chairman Gauchan shot dead in Baneshwar !

Oct 9, 2017-Two unknown assailants shot and killed construction businessman Sharad Kumar Gauchan near Om Shanti Chowk at Shantinagar in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu on Monday afternoon, Police said. Gauchan is the Chairman of Federation of Contractors' Associations of Nepal (FCAN).

Baneshwor Metropolitan Police Circle DSP Ravi Kumar Paudel said Guachan was shot nearby Om Shanti Chowk of Shantinagar area at around 3:15 pm. He was then rushed to Minbhawan-based Civil Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:26pm, said Paudel. Civil Hospital acting Director Bimal Thapa said Gauchan had no pulse when he was brought to the hospital. 

"He had sustained three bullets: one in his heart, one in liver and the third pierced his abdomen," said Thapa. There is no further information about the assailant, who fled the scene on a bike, according to Paudel. According to eyewitness, Gauchan was shot while he was heading towards New Baneshwor via Prayag Marga in his grey car (Ba 13 4948)--Land Cruiser Prado.

“When the car came on the spot, a person sitting on the right side of the road hurled a brick at the car. And no sooner had the car stopped than another person fired from the other side,” said the eyewitness. They immediately fled the scene on a motorbike that was waiting a few meters away from the incident spot. Meanwhile, the police have intensified the search to find the perpetrators.
