Guide to OZ Jobs/Rooms listingsIf you are planning to come to Australia as a long term full time student, you must be worried about what to buy and what not to buy. And If this is your first time abroad you surely need some help to get things sorted.
We friends in Australia have made a comprehensive list of items that you may want to bring with you.
Note: This list is just to be used as reference and you must not fully rely on it. Remember, different people have different choices and needs.
Don't forget your personal items like pescribed medicines, and of course your travel card or travellers cheque
Bring |
Your travellers cheque, travel card and some cash. Did you know you can also open an Australian Bank Account before you come to Australia and transfer money to that account before coming here. 2 Jackets, 2 Hoods (only if its winter) (See weather information) |
Pants - 4-6 (make sure you bring some black ones - at most workplaces black pants are preferred) |
Shirts, T-Shirts (don't bring too much 5 should be enough) |
2 pairs of glasses (if you wear glasses) - If you wear contacts, please bring enough - they are really expensive here |
1 formal suit (suits are seriously expensive here!!) |
1 mobile phone |
3/4 pairs of shoes |

Too many Cigarettes (If you smoke, maximum allowed is 20 cigarettes) (If you bring more, they'll dump it at the airport and potentially fine you, fines start from A$200) |
